I love my oncologist Dr H. She moved to this Royal Oak Beaumont facility a couple years ago. This office is TERRIBLE about returning calls and filling prescriptions. My pharmacy made 3 phone calls to get approval for a refill, but no response from the office. I then called the office and left 2 voice messages about this... but you can NEVER speak to a real person. Press a number to request a refill, and the voice message says they will process in 24-48 hours. Someone finally called me to say they would not process my refill because I was due for an office visit last month. I did not have an appt - all this covid stuff - and why didn't they call me to make one? So I made an appt for early Friday, and the PA said she would send in the refill order. If my medication is so important then why didn't they order the refill asap when I made [and kept] my appointment? Dr H, find another office. This CCA needs to greatly improve their customer service. At least hire someone to answer the phones!!!!! If my cancer came back, I would not go to this CCA, and would not recommend to anyone. Very upsetting ordeal.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Cancer Care Associates. They have the best oncology nursing staff around!!! I always feel comfortable and welcome in this office. My doctor is awesome too. Highly recommend.

I had to update my rating for this place. I had it previously at 5 stars because overall the staff had treated me well. I am updating it to 3 stars because my opinion of my hematologist Dr. Marianne Huben has changed. For the past year i've been treated by Dr. Huben for a condition that causes my body to absorb and store excess iron. In general, the medical model for treating this condition is to have blood regularly removed. Dr. Huben ordered such removal, and monitored my draw down adequately. However, my case has been complicated, it has taken much longer than most patients to be treated, and i remain having some strange outlying markers in my blood results that indicate i may not be fully treated. When i suggested to Dr. Huben that my case may be more complex, and there may need to be additional metrics that we analyze in order to consider treatment, she was entirely resistant to considering them, and immediately jumped to suggesting that I go see a different physician. Despite attempting to be calm yet firm in inquiring more about my care, and affirming that i respected her as a physician and simply was concerned for my health, I received a letter from her dismissing me from her care. This is the kind of behavior that causes the general public to mistrust physicians. After being a loyal patient, paying on time, attending every scheduled appointment, being kind and courteous to staff, I feel having a physician simply dismiss a patient because they don't want the patient to ask questions or question their treatment plan is completely unacceptable and irresponsible conduct. I am maintaining a 3 star review because, again, the rest of the staff have been excellent and I dont believe in running down the clinic simply because of one irresponsible physician.
