Maintenance never comes, even when emergency services are requested. Heating system is inconsistent, works in some rooms only. Currently trying to break my lease legally after three months

Why doesn’t anyone answer the phones. I call everyday different hours just to try to get an application or more information and never get a response. What are y’all doing in the office all day that you are not answering the phones?

The good: my apartment is small but cute. The kitchen and flooring has been newly updated. There are several huge closets in each unit. The neighborhood is residential, quiet, and safe. The walls are made of concrete quiet and well insulated. Less than 10 minutes to downtown without having to get on the highway. Pet friendly. One of the most affordable, nice places I found. The bad: unless you pay to use their parking lot, the free street parking can be annoying. Sometimes you have to park a block away from your building. The kitchen has only a few cabinets and they are small. since the walls are concrete, you need a drill to hang anything on the walls. Heat is included in the rent but you don't have control of when it's turned on/off or the temp. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to be close to downtown and you're on a budget.

The apartment itself was spacious with new appliances. HOWEVER. To begin, there was a wet stain on the ceiling of the hallway going down to the wall (the wall paper or whatever was literally peeling off due to the wetness) that maintenance just did not care about. It was like that for around 3 months. It looked trashy and was worsening by the week. I signed a year long lease with this place but had to break it because of the mold problem that caused severe respiratory issues and management refused to properly respond to or address this with me. The heating situation is inconvenient, as you as a tenant cannot turn it on or off. In the summer the buildings are approximately 80-90 degrees all day and night, and if you are on the third floor then it’s the worst. There is an air conditioner situation offered by maintenance for 100 for the season, yet when I asked about this I was ignored and essentially shoved away. Maybe they only have so many? I don’t know. My only option was to buy my own window air conditioner for 300 (to use for maybe 2-3 months) which was ridiculously heavy to carry up two flights of stairs. What I’m getting at is the temperature regulation in the place is AN INCONVENIENCE. And if you’re allergic to mold, definitely do not live here!!
