They will lie, cheat, and steal their way out of covering a claim. They are impolite even to longstanding customers. Basically a complete scam. They don't note your account from phone conversations AT ALL, so they can deny everything they said later. They don't even have clear communication within their own departments internally. The only thing they are good at is TAKING YOUR MONEY AND KEEPING IT.

This is my personal experience and review with Safeco home owners insurance. On 8/26/20 I had a handgun stolen from my garage. I filed a police report 2020-6052 with the Mesa AZ police department. I then contacted Safeco. This is when the trouble began. I will state here and now there is nothing safe about Safeco. After filing my claim (#043416545), in just a few days I was transferred to Donna During then Amber Douglas then Katrenna Moore then Katrenna handed it over to a so called third party adjuster (Keri Downing) who supposedly was separate from Safeco, but that was not true. Her phone number is at Safeco, even her message was all Safeco. However, I never spoke to Keri. She would not return my calls or my messages. Keri determined in writing that my vintage handgun was only worth 495.00. My hand gun was made in 1908 by Colt, and the real replacement value is 1800.00 - 2500.00 dollars. I’ve owned this firearm for some 38 plus years. The standard question from all of the adjusters was, do you have a receipt or proof of purchase? The value was determined by current market value but they would not tell me or show me how they came up with that price. Based on the largest internet firearms dealer (GUNBROKER) plus other sights, which have similar Colt handguns selling at auction for the price mentioned above, this is the real market value! My deductible is a 1000.00 so Safeco is safe for Safeco. If Safeco won’t honor a small claim like this, why would they ever cover a large claim like severe roof or structural damage. So I was ripped off twice by two thieves cut from the same mold. To all NRA members and gun owners of America do not trust Safeco to protect your cherished firearms in anyway. Find a reputable insurance company with integrity. Since Safeco is part of Liberty Mutual I would avoid these two companies like the Bubonic plague.

After paying for insurance for 20 years, we used our insurance for the first time this year. Their care and service was incompetent and they tried to cut every corner. It took months to get anything resolved. Then Safeco / Liberty Mutual sent us a letter discontinuing our insurance. Their reason was \because you used your insurance.\ First, Safeco low-balls you on the price. Then they switch up the rep on your account so everything gets stuck in paperwork and slows things down. Then, they need to send an additional reviewer out to argue with any real contractor prices you'll find and then, once they cut you a check, they discontinue the service they provide to you. Now, we can't get insurance ANYWHERE. I see these insurance commercials every day saying \accident forgiveness\ and these insurance companies say they are here for you, but that is an outright lie. They only want your money and do not want to do anything to help you. Don't listen to their celebrities who are cashing in on the
