During a week vacation in Colorado, we stopped for a night in Salida. We did a class 3 afternoon Browns Canyon trip with Salida River Adventures/Salida Anglers and highly recommend it! It was unforgettable and a highlight of the entire trip! We were able to do the trip with just our family of 5 plus our guide Matt, who was fantastic. Matt thoroughly went over safety plans prior to leaving. He made us comfortable, prepared, and safe during every step. We are so glad we went with a small outfitter! It will always be a treasured memory and we can't wait to do a level 4! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

This is a small employee owned business that does it right! They run smaller trips so you don’t have a big crowd & they are so accommodating! Everyone is very friendly & the place is very clean! Our guide, Kyle, was amazing! Not only does he know the river like the back of his hand so we got the best trip possible, he is well versed in the history of the area! Kyle has a great personality too - funny as hell, confident, very friendly & makes you feel at ease & capable of doing your job to make the trip a blast! I highly recommend Salida River Adventures - we will be back!!
My family did the full day at Brown's Canyon. Overall the trip was fantastic and our guide, Paul was really excellent. The first half of trip was pretty low key with the water flow being down this time of year. For youngsters and thrill seekers that part can feel slow, however, the views and conversation we had with Paul made the time go by. The sack lunch they provided was really good, the sandwich was substantial and tasted fresh. The second half after lunch the river got quite a bit more exciting and Paul was really good and giving us a great ride. I could tell he knew the river really well and had a few tricks up his sleeve while keeping it very fun and safe. Salida River Adventures is a small outfit that doesn't compromise quality. I would highly recommend.
So our family needed to escape the Texas heat and we decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Colorado to visit a few towns while there. Salida being one of them. We gravitated to Salida because that's where the whitewater rafting was and we found Salida River Adventures! Can't speak highly enough about this group. For one, they are a smaller outfit. Great value, quality, and professionalism. We had one of the co-owners, Kyle as our tour guide which really made the experience amazing. He knew everything about the river, the intricacies of the rapids, and the scenery. He made it an interesting, fun, and informative half day for us. He was excellent at instructing our family of (4) in the raft and we survived the Class 3 rapids! They provided an option to purchase professional digital prints of our adventure at the end of our journey, and we bought all of the prints. Definitely a bucket list item for us to cross off our list and we will be back again! Thoroughly enjoyed it and what a great way to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday today with the family and have a little fun and relaxation. Thank you Salida River Adventures!
We called Becca at Salida River Adventures with short notice and to book a fly fishing float trip. She was able to get us in and answered all my questions and worked with me as we finalized our weekend plans. It was a wonderful day on the river. Josh taught us about reading the water and helped us get onto some fish. The day was great, he worked with my wife's limited mobility. The whole crew was wonderful, very professional and friendly!
