My depression and anxiety got too much to handle so I voluntarily checked myself in here and stayed for 8 days. My doctor was great and all the nurses (especially Chris and Jessica) were so nice and caring. The therapy sessions during the day were helpful. I wish there was more to do during free time though so bring your own books or coloring books to keep you occupied. I got my meds changed around here and am happy to say I am feeling a lot better. I'm still doing the outpatient program and it has been amazing.

This place literally changed my life in the sense that it gave me tools that I never had access to before. I'm a 24 year old male who had severe depression, chemical dependency and suicidal tendencies before cheching in here the end of October. It's now the beginning of January and soon to be the end of my outpatient program for me and I can tell you that although the staff can use some work in regards to how they treat their patients who haven't had the guidance on how to speak to people appropriately... they do their best to try and make things work! I think if people were more mindful of how much it costs to be here almost 500 per day, perhaps they'd take things more serious? Not only that, I've learned the secret of mindfulness while being here and have had much practice the past couple months learning that it takes doing the work(i.e. such as meditating everyday and creating that good habit) in order to reap the benefits. Also, they have a family group meetings Wednesdays and Thursdays @ 6 if you want to CONTINUE more treatment. With a therapist or counselor!! This place is AMAZING in my opinion. The reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because of the partial lack in customer training (i.e. counselors and therapists leaving their emotions at the door every day)

Back in 2010, I was placed in a group home called “New Haven Youth & Family Services” While I suffer abuse there every single day, I also felt suicidal as well. My only way out was to go to Aurora before Child Services were involved and finally managed to take me back home to my parents. Aurora was a great place to help me find myself again. Staff were nice and the nurse was awesome too in the adolescent unit. Food was good too

This place saved my life! I was a recluse for 18 years. My diagnosis from Aurora was social anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and addiction issues. I’d been on high-dose morphine for 10 years. I suffer with a rare disease called Sarcoidosis and it greatly affects my mental health. I detoxed, went through rehab and did a long stent in intensive outpatient treatment. I learned DBT and mindfulness as well as CBT. I learned all about self-esteem and how to take good care of my emotional needs. I saw a specialist who helped me with my suicidal ideation. They completely changed my life! I am so blessed for that experience! Incidentally, I continued my mental health quest like I said I would. It’s been a 7 year journey. The Amen clinic did a full evaluation with Spect-Scans to re-diagnosed me with Agoraphobia, C-PTSD, DID, defused traumatic brain injury and no addiction issues. And I’m not done yet! Thanks again! Blessings! Alesia ONeil ( March 2013 )

The facility itself is a sense of dread. When going for mental health comfort is needed. The staff was nice , however. I checked out AMA and will be doing a different facility with a better environment. It did not feel safe while there, they did not have control of some patients that were dangerous. But it is difficult with the amount of patients versus staff
