Five stars for Il Dandy! I'm from the Midwest and have craved deep dish pizza ever since I left. I did a jig o' joy when this place opened in my neighborhood. Fresh ingredients, perfectly crispy crust, just perfect. I take my folks there when they're in town, I go with friends there when we just want to chill and have a great dinner, I even took my Italian friend there and he complimented the staff on the food. What more could I want? I haven't been to the one in the Mission, but I'm sure it's just as good. I'll go again and again.

Stopped by as I restaurant hop around the area. We sat at one of the small tables by the bar. I can't remember our servers name but he was very nice. We ordered a Rustichella Pizza. It was soooo good and I washed it down with a glass of wine. The decor is beautiful and the servers are dressed nicely. Can't wait to return.

Sleek and elegant - but comfortable -decor makes this a great place for cocktails and bites. Interesting flavor and taste combinations served by helpful and knowledgeable staff. Operated by the family who own Civico in Little Italy Good deals during Happy Hour - wines, Aperol spritz etc - and snacks. Loved the calamari, olives and truffle pizza. Regular menu Is pricy. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tough competition across the street from Cucina Urbana.

I have so much good to say about the service. Courtney treated us so well. She brought out bubbly while the bar was held up with our drinks. And she would take it upon herself to bring out extra dessert because I didn't enjoy one of the entrees. After all, the service was attentive and friendly. The food has room for improvement and it has taught me one thing: always ask if there is any new item on the menu and how new it is. You don't want to be the guinea pig, just not yet ;) My favorite dish out of the whole dinner was the ravioli di "pasta kina" which had tender wrapper and flavorful beef cheek. My friend liked the calabrese salad. The crouton's presence was enough and not overpowering. The other dishes were just mediocre. I didn't care much for the crudo di ricciola. It had a bitter and fishy after taste. The profondo rosso was salty and too much to chew on. It tired my jaw out. My squid ink spaghetti was too al-dente to my taste and very salty. I want to be dandy leaving a gentleman's review but the restaurant has to be a lady and improve on her cooking before I go back.

We had a family dinner here and everyone really enjoyed their food. It has a beautiful ambiance with white and blue and an open modern appeal. The wine was excellent and paired well with the food. Highlights from dinner were definitely the seasoned pork meatball antipasti in white cheese sauce and the paper steamed fish which was cut open tableside releasing steam and a delicious aroma. The beet risotto was tasty but certainly on the al dente side. The mixed seafood plate was also good and overall I'd definitely recommend the Italian style seafood here.

If you're in San Diego you have absolutely to try this experience called Dandy, a new Italian restaurant with a menu very interesting, something different in the city. The atmosphere is relaxing, it's a modern space with a design that remind you the Mediterranean Sea, the fishermen, the sailors, and citation of 900 italians avantgarde. The food is delicate, I tried the tuna mozzarella, amazing, the octopus spiedino, the pizza crust is so tasting and light. I would recommend you the beefcheek ravioli with egg yolk and lemon and the salmon Al cartoccio. Service Is friendly and attentive and all this made our experience more than satisfactory!
