Many of the indoor exhibits are closed and to their credit, they make sure to inform you before they sell you the ticket. 26 a person was a little steep I thought but by the end I felt it was well deserved. This is quite a unique museum in that it's filled with friendly and knowledgeable veterans wearing yellow hats who will answer all of your questions about the Midway, Carriers, ships and aircraft. You get a free audioguide which is in its own right well done but you get much more by engaging with the staff who are always eager to educate. I highly suggest you visit and listen to the in-person presentations conducted by the staff.

It is one of the most amazing experiences, don’t miss it if you are in San Diego. Explore the ship, check out how the navy seals used to live, eat, do their business…etc., you will see new exciting things on each floor, including a lot of different types of aircraft. You can learn a lot from the fantastic veterans who actually served on the ship, also make sure to use the audio tour as well, it is informative.
Wonderful \museum\ of an aircraft carrier. Included with admission is a listening device which works with a station at each attraction that was very informative. The best parts for me were the 2 live pilot presentations (each from the Vietnam war) on the catapult and the hook and arresting wire (to stop the aircraft). They each had excellent audio-visual aids as well. Don't miss this.
An absolute must-visit gem of San Diego if you're staying or even just passing by. The staff are very knowledgeable and the stats will make your jaw drop! The whole ship is converted to a museum with pretty much all areas accessible and refurbished. Make sure to head to the main deck for some sunlight to gaze over the aircraft and helicopters, before diving down to the lower decks to discover what life was like for the seamen aboard the ship. I can guarantee the visit will not disappoint!
Valuable Experience. A visit to the Midway Museum if fun and very educational - truly a unique visitor experience. It is really big enough to be two museums. The volunteer docents are the best. Veteran are available to give background history on vast number of displays and aircraft. There are special events during Fleet Week like a parachute landing on the deck.
