I wish I could give Bamboo Comm. 5 stars because John is the most proactive and responsive business owner I've experienced in a while. So I give him 5 stars but the product, DoorBird, is really subpar. As others have mentioned, it is really slow. The app interface is terrible and I don't trust I will catch every person who rings my door because the alerts are so quiet (even on the loudest setting) and the lag time between them calling and the app connecting is very slow. The telephone install guy said the speed we have would be more than enough to handle the video so it must be the software that is not working. It's just a bad product. Bottomline: Bamboo Communications (John) is great but buyer beware.

This review is long overdue - and now especially well-earned based on how well our system has held up and John's incredible responsiveness when we had to relocate a portion of our system to accommodate some remodeling. John was referred to me in 2016 by a good friend in the real estate industry who hired John for several commercial projects as well as his own home. John had thoughtful (and very clear) recommendations for a six-camera home security system. We met with one other vendor and selected John based on his knowledge and his price (as well as my friend's recommendation). His guys were neat and clean and efficient on the install and did a great job of hiding the cables. John was frequently on-site to oversee the work. John walked me through the setup on my laptop and phone and the system has been working for us ever since. Most impressively, any time I have called John since 2016 (including tonight!) with a minor question or the occasional troubleshooting issue (mostly due to a change of phone or computer on my end), he has been incredibly quick to respond and has never charged me another dime, including making a visit to my house to assist on one occasion. Really outstanding service from a very stand up guy.

I hired Bamboo Communication to install six security cameras inside my house back in Aug, 2015. John, the owner, is very knowledgeable in his trade. He listened and understood my requests and concerns. He and his team are highly skilled and did an awesome job from start to finish. They were extremely professional, and worked effectively and efficiently. The reason I am writing the review now is because I am so impressed by John’s technical support throughout the years. First of all, the cameras are solid and require no maintenance. But as I upgrade technology, the camera communications need to be tweaked. One time, I upgraded iOS in my cell phone and John walked me through downloading the updated version of SuperLive Plus to be in sync. Recently, I installed a new gateway modem. Normally, it’s an easy fix from John’s end to reconnect remotely. However, John has identified an Xfinity issue that won’t allow the connection. I spent hours with the Xfinity technicians with no avail. So John tried many different ways and figured out an alternate solution with our existing equipment to reconfigure the connectivity. The process took quite some time but John was patient and relentless in trying to figure out a solution. Over the years, John has always returned my calls promptly and made himself available. And my recent experience showed that he is also willing to go above and beyond to find workable solutions.

I love working with John and his team and am very happy with his service. John is super responsive, knowledgeable, honest, and efficient. I reached out to John on a Friday afternoon about installing video cameras. He got back to me immediately, and we scheduled his visit for the next day (Saturday). He gave me an estimate that very same day. I asked him several follow up questions over the weekend, and regardless of the time and day, he responded immediately. John was so responsive and knowledgeable that we didn't bother shopping around with other vendors. We signed up on a Monday, and two days later, John and his team were at the house installing the cameras. The team was very efficient and organized. The cameras wires were neatly placed, and the team cleaned up everything after they are done. John made sure everything works, including my garage doors were closed properly (totally outside the scope of his work), before he left. I would definitely recommend John and his team to everyone. I wish all vendors were like John -- responsive, efficient, and knowledgeable.

John had installed a comprehensive camera system at my residence a few years ago and has provided superb technical support and customer service any time a question has come up, even after business hours. Very responsive and great to work with. Most recently I had upgraded some network equipment and he was a huge help with integrating the camera system to the new components. Highly recommend him and his team without reservation.
