The owner is Japanese and makes his own Sukiyaka broth recipe. So, I can tell you that is it authentic as authentic gets! I have not had this good of sukiyaki since I was in Japan. The meats and vegetables are fresh, the Sapporo Beer is on tap and the service is impeccable. This place is located in the heart of Japan town in San Francisco and make sure you go early because seating is limited. The grill is on the table so be prepared to COOK YOUR OWN FOOD if you order this dish, but honestly there is no other dish to order as it straight out of Japan. Oishi!!!!

We made the mistake of getting the all you can eat, just too much food. We could have ordered the normal menu item and would still be enough meat. Both the beef and pork slices are very thinly sliced and cooked almost instantly. I like the two sauces, one is a soy sauce (with bonito flavor in it?) and the other is a sesame sauce. They have hot pepper flakes if you want to add more heat to your soup or sauce. There's also a variety of veggies and noodles (clear, undo and ramen). On top of that, a bowl of white rice and either a seaweed salad or soba noodles. They refill the soup when it is low so don't worry about that. There are two soup flavors: spicy miso and original bonito. There is usually a wait so get there early! It's awesome when it's cold outside, warms up the belly!

They only have two waiters and we are not served well. The hot pot tastes like nothing, like water with no taste.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon and thankfully it is not crowded. Their meats are worth checking out. They have very well thinly sliced beef and pork meats that are not too fatty and not frozen. Perfect amount of lean meat and fat. The texture of the beef was great. I'm a bit disappointed on the portions of veggies for the shabu because it less than the other places I've been in. The upside is that their price is inexpensive than others with an exception of kobe beef. It was very expensive. But if their regular beef is very good, I would expect their kobe to be amazing. Vibe is casual and atmosphere is quiet. Staff is good.
