We loved working with Katya! We interviewed her during our first pregnancy. I didn’t have any family members nearby and figured it would be helpful to have additional support during the birthing process. My husband and I felt an instant connection with her – she was knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to. We worked with her during a tricky time (the covid-19 pandemic) but her attention to detail and procedure made us feel extremely comfortable. During the months leading up to our daughter’s birth, Katya shared and reviewed helpful content to prepare us for the experience. Her modules gave us an incredible breadth of information but coupling them with follow-up conversations really made me feel like I had more control of the birthing process than I previously would have imagined. Once labor began Katya was of immense help to me and my husband. I can look back fondly on my birthing experience because she helped us stay calm and focused. I would recommend her to any expecting mother because she made such a positive impact on us during this exciting but anxious time.

Hiring Katya as our birth Doula was an excellent choice for us. Her background as a nurse coupled with her attention to detail made us feel prepared and informed for our first birth experience. Her dedication to us and our experience never faltered, not even after 40 hours of labor :) I feel confident that my birth experience would have been very different without her and much further from what I wanted. We were so pleased with our experience with Katya as our doula. During our prenatal work with Katya, she provided me great resources for a birthing class, a prenatal chiropractor, and online tools to best prepare my body. She ensured my husband was well prepared in supporting me, as well. She had us engaged on our own time with videos and articles that prepared myself and my husband to make educated choices before, during, and after birth. There were tough times that came up during our pregnancy and Katya always provided us amazing specific resources that no one else on our birth team took the time to provide. She was always empathetic to how sensitive these times/topics were for us. We had originally planned a birth center experience, but she still provided us the information necessary to have informed conversations with doctors and nurses in a hospital setting. At the time, we thought it was overkill, but turned out to be invaluable!!! We ended up having a hospital birth without the chance of even beginning labor at home. Due to hospital restrictions during COVID-19, Katya was not allowed to join in person. However Katya make herself available by phone throughout our 48 hours in the hospital. We were able to advocate confidently when faced with difficult choices due to the education we received from Katya. When we were unsure about different options, we were able to text her and get a quick response so that we were able to have the altered experience that respected our preferences.
Katya was my pure angel during my daughter's birth! I admire Katya's bedside manners and her cordial and kind heart. She was always warmly open for me during my pregnancy and, most importantly, birth, offering her tremendous skills, knowledge, and advise. She was my great listener and companion through my third pregnancy journey. I always felt like she is a part of my happy circle or family. My labor was intense but relatively short. There were some critical things in the process and she always knew what to do to make it more comfortable. She massaged and applied firm pressure on my lower back, working as hard as I was during my labor! I feel really fortunate to have her on my side and strongly recommend her services.
In July 2017, I gave birth to our son weighing 9.5 lb. Despite the fact that I am pretty small, and it was my first delivery, it happened so naturally and smooth that after a few hours I was ready to repeat it again :). Doula Katya helped us a lot by showing the various positions in which you can move, which greatly eased that painful period. Katya also helped by talking to me during the contractions, which was necessary for me so as not to concentrate on the pain (my husband seemed to be very worried about me at that time). Doula Katya understood what worked just for me as a woman in labour to experience the contractions and the birth itself more comfortably!
