Pandemic times, new safety regulations create an Indoor & Outdoor mass hard for all of us. LOVE the Saint Joseph Cathedral.

I’ve been here a few times for mass. This time was Saturday vigil. Come early to enjoy the fantastic architecture. One thing I don’t like is the sound system with the dome it echoes. This Parish also doesn’t have kneelers, but getting past that I felt welcomed and have enjoyed the celebrations.
This place is absolutely beautify. The stained glass are awesome so are the dome and ceiling painting. It's quite relaxing and calm inside. Its easily accessible by light rail and bus. This place is a must visit.
This once-beautiful basilica has, like so many others, been defaced by vandals infected with the Spirit of Vatican II. This is one of the worst wreckovations I've seen, which is impressive. Achievement unlocked, I guess. On the positive side, you can spend an entertaining five minutes playing Where's Waldo to find the Tabernacle.
A calm and peaceful place in the middle of San Jose, with a bright exterior that stands out. Within walking distance of many hotels, public transit, and other attractions like the San Jose museum of art. When I visited, there was no mass, but there were running a brief tour around the cathedral. The colorful stained glass windows, decorative ceiling, and well-maintained statues were the highlight of the trip. A great public space for folks who would like to pray, meditate, contemplate, or find a quiet reprieve from the bustling downtown area.
