This was the first every place I rode at and I loved it! If I ever showed any potential it was explored and I advanced quickly because of this; the instructors are also very well mannered.. I would recommend this place to beginners though overall, it teaches you the basics of walk, trot, canter, and jump, but they don't have many horses. The horses that they do have are older and worked continuously, not to mention if you are tall you won't be able to ride any of the horses but maybe one or two depending on if they get more horses or not. From what I have seen in the last year alone they moved three times, I am unsure as of why but I asked my friend who still rides here and she said she didn't know either.. Overall, this place is a good place to start out and learn, but eventually they won't be able to teach you much more! I got to the level of their advanced pony camp team after only riding for three months and it should take much longer than that. I now happily ride at a new place where I have learned so much and advanced a lot, but my point still stands that this is a good place to start your riding journey and I wish all the future riders, staff, and horses good luck at horsemanship. You won't regret your time there! :)

Amazing riding school! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and great with kids. They provide a fun, safe learning environment and are cognizant in making sure the child is ready before letting them take on more advanced skills. The horses and ponies are sweet, lovable, and well-trained. Compared to most other horse ranches, the facilities are much nicer, and I enjoy being able watch the kids and meet other parents. I will definitely be recommending this riding school to others.
Horsemanship Academy is a great riding school. The staff is really knowledgeable, and great to work with. I refer all of my friends, especially those with kids, wanting to learn how to ride to Kajsa's school. They also have really great school horses. Of course, I'm a bit biased as I lease my horse to the school to use in lessons. But that's how much I love them. I completely trust them to care for my horse, and to make sure she's happy! The new facilities are also amazing.
I’ve had such nice moments at Horsemanship Academy. Everyone is so friendly and the mood is very casual yet professional. The barn and the surroundings are nice. I have been for some absolutely beautiful trail rides here. My favorite is Fiona-the pony. She’s calm and secure, perfect for a beginner, but there’s horses for every level. I can warmly recommend Horsemanship Academy!
We love Horsemanship Academy! I have been riding with Kajsa, the owner, since last fall and I am very happy. The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable and always make you feel welcome. They respond promptly to emails and phone calls. It is the perfect place to learn to ride! They are also amazing with children and provide a safe and fun environment. Our daughter really loves it there. You can tell that they love the horses and they are immaculately cared for. The facility is pristine and very conveniently located close to freeways, a mile or so west of Rancho Santa Fe. We really like it and could not have found a better riding school for our family.
