Good variety. Love that I can just order by number of skewers straight on the menu. Things I liked included the gizzards, kalbi with sauce, chicken hearts, shishito peppers, tongue, scallops, and oyster mushrooms. I thought the shiitake was undercooked. The quail eggs were a little over. Eggplant and tofu Agedashi was wonderful.

Price is a little high but I like the new outdoor dining setup. We got a few skewers (my favorite was the heart) and shared a bowl of ramen. The lamb chops were good and the fried octopus was good as well.

The place is clean but the lighting system is not very bright. Food is delicious!!!! One of my favourite dishes is Scallop lol. I ordered 5 scallops btw haha and my buddies were trying to stop me ordering one more dish XD Highly recommended! And please be reminded to make a reservation before getting to there lol

Update the recent experience I went to here on last Saturday night, but when I came in, the waitress told me that they only accept reservations. The waitress left with only these words. Again, I felt so embarrassed and disappointed. I thought she didn’t feel apologized for my experience, and it had so many tables available. I don’t know when they started to only accept reservations, but I used to love this restaurant so much. However, now I just feel sad! I really like their foods, and there are plenty of choices. Lamp chops have good taste!!! beef tongue, oh, I don’t know how to describe. It’s just soft and fresh. squids, and shrimp is very fresh and sweet. These are so delicious. I came here for many times, and they still kept the high quality of foods. However, the wait time is toooooo long!!! Not only for food bust also for seats. This place is always busy, and there are no waiting seats.

I adore this spot! They give first-cleass dishes, their menu is varied, The chief cook in that restaurant is very experienced, I love very much trying all their dishes. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, the service towards the visitors is friendly. I frequently visit this restaurant and I not even once was unhappy. I recommend it to all.

[Originally posted on Yelp on 3/17/2019] Three stars for the food quality given the price - 3 for one skewer which had 3 pieces of meat, 7 for a small appetizer which had 5 pieces of chicken wrapped in rice. One more star for its plum wine, intimate environment (or you can also call it crowded) and for that it's a yakitori place. The food items are hit or miss. The rice balls were the highlight of the meals. The fried calamari was mushy, the salted skewers were too salty while the sauced ones didn't have much flavor. Only two servers were working on a Saturday night around 10 pm which meant we had to wait for a long time for everything.

When you're schedule doesn't allow you to take a 10-hour flight to Tokyo for amazing Japanese food, Kokko will do it for you within the hour. Always busy, but for good reason. Call ahead for reservations.

Over priced food, tasted so so and doesn't meet the expectation. We came here mainly for the Yakitori, but most of their items are a bit under grilled, under charred, under smoked, under cooked, whatever that you call it. I was guessing the purpose is to preserve the taste of the raw food material, but it resulted the food to be less tasty. Final point, their food in general are too salty, all six people in our group today all got the same comments on this.
