Love this place. Great fine dining experience with decent price. All dishes are thoughtfully curated. Fresh and seasonal ingredients, for sure. Reserve early!

One of the best Japanese food I had in this area.

Finally got in here again. Mostly as good as before. Overall I will say it is 3.8. First dish is sushimi grade shrimp and scallops. They are pre-flavored. You can eat them like sushimi or put them on the hot stone. Personally, I think just eating raw is good enough. It offered two egg dishes. One is steam egg with fish and the other is stir fried egg with mushroom over rice. I think one egg dish is enough. The whole set I think is missing fried stuff like fried fish or veggies. Most disappointed dish I think is the beef. It is very soft but no beef flavor. I think a little rock salt will bring out the flavor more. Most impressed dish is the fruit dessert. I am not a fruit fan so it is a surprise. The milky sauce made the desert a whole. It is light and you want to have more. Overall, a good dinning experience.

Lovely kaiseki cuisine with regional ingredients. Tip: you'll need to make a reservation about 4 weeks out. But you can offer up different days and times. They will call you back to confirm. After you're set, just arrive and enjoy. The atmosphere is very intimate and quiet.

Of all the dishes, I found the trio of lobster with strawberry infused sauce, skewered scallops, and gindara such a sublime treat. Dining at Wakuriya feels like being at someone’s home. Mayumi as always, was gracious and hospitable. She patiently explained everything. their food and service never fail to delight us.

We ordered take out kaiseki dinner for 2 at Wakuriya and all the dishes that were in it are absolutely delicious. We’ve dined in the restaurant twice in the past and they never disappoint! The money spent was well worth it, for sure! We will do it again.

Inventive, fresh, and impecably styled and flavored dishes. It's a long meal (3 hrs) and there aren't too many seats. It's understated from the outside and you wouldn't know such a gem existed in the strip mall. Would highly recommend. Be aware it's one tasting menu and there's not a ton of customization for those with food restrictions (e.g. if you don't eat raw fish). Highlight of my meal was the lobster.

Fantastic take out by Chef Katsuhiro Yamasaki during this ongoing Shelter in Place era. Mutiple dishes served in their own mini trays. Ours included "Moriwase" ocean trout and big eye tuna sashimi. Another dish was the wagyu beef with blue shrimp. Last, was the "unagi govan" (eel) over rice. This dish also had a steamed egg that we thought would bust on the way home but never did. Every plate was ready to eat when we got it home and each bite was amazing. Lots of flavors and textures with each bit. Got a bottle of Shimeharitsuru (Junmai Ginjo) Sake that was incredibly smooth to go with it. Definitely recommend trying them out!!!!
