Wanted to charge me 80 for 25 capacitor replacement. A 3 minute job. I've had them replaced before, but no one dared to go that high. 50 would have been my top price. For 30 I got the capacitor and a tool online and did it in 5 minutes.
A Timex or as I call it the poor man's Rolex has been an interest of mine since the 70s. EBAY became a great resource for older manual wind watches for reasonable prices. I stumbled across one that was unique and wanted it restored. As Pat and I have a professional relationship. I asked his opinion. We agreed to send it down for assessment. Fortunately he agreed that it was more to fix then its value but unique enough to make it worth fixing. Long story short. I have a great watch at a fair price for repair and a place I know I can trust to be honest and fair. Great place that I would highly recommend.
I highly recommend Vilicich for clock repair. They have repaired my wall clock twice after it stopped working. The first time it needed major repair which they fixed in a timely manner, The next time the repairman took one look and asked if I could wait a couple minutes. In five minutes he fixed it and did not charge me. They are a very pleasant helpful group.
