From the very first time I walked into Unraveled I loved the varied selection of yarn (always quality, but with all types of accessibility for your budget and needs). But the day I sat down with one of the groups on Saturday was when I found that Unraveled Sheep truly shines in the sense of community and atmosphere. Hands down, Unraveled is the most welcoming store I have ever been in. All skill levels are welcome, and it doesn't matter whether you are knitting with cashmere or sale discount acrylic. Everyone is very nice to each other. Verla (the owner) always makes sure to let customers know she can assist them or will get to them if she is currently helping someone. I have not found very many stores where the staff are willing to share knowledge or techniques with a person (or even help fix their knitting snafus) if they are not going to buy the time, but there is always SOMEBODY at the store who can help you out. Verla can help between shopping customers that need assistance, or there are usually other people who are around the store much of the time who are willing to help out. Unraveled has been expanding into offering spinning products, and offers extremely high quality fiber and spindles at excellent prices! Greenwood Fiber and Greensleeves spindles are some of the best of both (quality and price) that you will find anywhere. And it seems like a small unimportant thing, but the notions selection is great. Any time I need a tool or a new needle, Verla has it or can get it.

This is a great knit shop. Lots of gorgeous yarn, beautiful knit items to drool over all over the store, and in my experience the owner has been more than helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who wants good quality yarn.

I live in Utah County, which has one shop that carries the variety and quality of yarn I like. The rest are chain stores. I make it a point to visit Unraveled Sheep when I'm in Salt Lake Valley because they are friendly, have a great variety of quality yarn and notions, and their prices are reasonable. My "local shop" likes to add what seems like a dollar to every skein or ball of yarn above the prices I find elsewhere. So, it's very worth the trip for me to visit this great shop! Verla has been very helpful.

As a supporter (and beneficiary) of my wife's knitting _________ - pick a word: Habit; Obsession; Addiction; Hobby; Passion, etc., I enjoy visiting yarn shops. Yarn shops are more hospitable than any commercial places. The Unraveled Sheep supersedes even the very high standard of the yarn shop community.

I have been coming to Unraveled Sheep for over 9 years now. They are my first "go to" place for knitting supplies, knowledgeable and patient assistance, and classes for furthering my skills. Verla (the owner) and her staff are always welcoming, glad to assist and provide customer service way beyond what you will find in comparable shops. They maintain a great selection of traditional yarns and yet also have a tremendous supply of the latest trends, particularly in the area of hand-dyed wool and blends. I have truly enjoyed the social-knitting aspect of the shop and believe the camaraderie and "over the shoulder" teaching has contributed to strengthening my skills as a knitter. I would highly recommend this shop for the beginning knitter who needs a supportive environment in which to learn. If you are a more experienced knitter looking to increase your knowledge or to take on a more difficult project, Verla and her staff are up to that challenge!

This is my primary yarn shop. I started visiting the shop a year and a half ago as a new knitter (though a long-time crocheter). Verla, the owner, is remarkably helpful and welcoming. Unlike some instructors, she was willing to show me any technique I was interested in learning. I've appreciated her help in selecting yarns to match patterns and to think through pattern adjustments to suit my taste -- or my children's taste!
