Came here at 8 am and 11am on Jan 23 2020 and they were not open both times. I was going to spend a few hundred dollars but I couldn't cause they were not open. This is not a way to run a business. Every where I looked said either open at 8 am or 11am. I live in Thomasville and this is the closest star rods dealer to me. I guess I should have drove the 2 hrs to Kinston to go to the neuse sport shop.

Def will be visiting the shop again. After driving around town burnin gas lookin for minnows, this was the only place that had them. There was a young man workin the shop all by himself. He is knowledgeable on the gear and his customer service is on point. High five to the young man. Dont see much of that these days. #WorkEthic

Awesome place to get fishing gear. Purchased a nice gaf at a really competitive price! And thanks to the gent today, I am sporting a cool looking hammer down logo on my 218dlv. I will always visit this shop! I actually plan my fishing trips to Harris or Jordan lakes around their timeline which is a good one at that.

A very weak selection of tackle. And couldn't even put new line on three of my reals.

Arrived at shop this morning at 0815, both the sign in the window and online times state the store hours as 0800-1700. Waited for 15 min, nothing. So I figured I’d give them a call, see if there was an update to times due to coming into the fall season, went to a voicemail recording telling me that the mailbox is full. Since I have my 5y/o son with me, and he is excited to go to the “fishing store” I decided to go down the road to top off my truck with gas. Came back, still nothing, it’s now 0900, letting my son determine how long we wait, so he can learn a lesson in patience and perseverance. I understand that there emergencies, alarms don’t go off or the snooze button gets hit. That being said, your only as good as your word, add to that the fact you can’t clear out your businesses voicemail, or have a personalized phone message alerting customers to your house of business is unacceptable and unprofessional. I’m very disappointed in this locally owned business. We all complain about big box stores taking over, and how impersonal they are. Sad thing is that it’s because of small businesses like this that people turn to the big box stores or worse Amazon. I can say that I will think very long and hard before I ever stop here again. Again I’m very saddened to have had this experience. So I figured I’d give this place the benefit of the doubt. Here I sit on November 7th at 0837, not a soul in sight. I’m done with this local business. Maybe school is closed again? I drove past last Friday around 0900 heading to the airport, it was closed then as well. Disappointed.
