I complained to BBB and Sonia from Global Recycling replied: the weight of the containers were the TARE weight and the first basket weighs 44lbs empty. The second baskets accumulate to 102lbs. One is 45 lbs and the other is 57lbs. To us the baskets look the same weight and size and they didn't weigh them after the cans were out and there was nothing on the containers specifying the TARE weight. The cashier arbitrarily said one weighed 44lbs on one receipt and on another receipt they arbitrarily had tare weigh 45lbs and 57lbs 102 lbs. Which conveniently was 99 total pounds. 1 pound less than the state mandated limit of: 100. there is a 13 pounds difference in TARE weight between receipts: Which 13 * 1.80 23.40 which is 468 cans. I called another recycling place and their containers weigh 2 to 4 pounds. If the TARE weights are not the same across containers than it should be displayed on each container or weighed each time. To arbitrarily assign TARE weights is wrong. What a scam. Please contact me if this happened to you, I am getting a Class Action Suit against them. You can also file a complaint with CalRecycle, WEights and Measures, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, Senators and OC Register.
I called to get a quote on a catalytic converter. I told them I have the serial number. They told me I had to bring it in. I brought it to them after 25 min. They gave me a price of 50.00 For a 1,100 to 1,600 converter.
