our design team reached out to micro waterjet from a recommendation from our vendor for rapid prototype production. we did some research and did review that the waterjet technology is suppose to product faster turnaround time for projects as well as yielding the same quality results if not better. we had micro waterjet work on one of our newest prototype productions using their technology and the turnaround time was much faster than the other vendors we have worked with. according to their engineer, it allows for higher cutting speeds, higher cutting accuracy, it uses lower cutting force, and there is little to no change in material structure. all of these were positives for us and we were very satisfied with the results and how fast we were able to get them.
