I don't even know where to begin here. The Last house truly saved my brother's life. I am a nurse and have (what I consider) a pretty good background in healthcare and even studied mental health etc. My brother was a successful student, with two college degrees (agriculture/construction management), charming, fun loving, and a BALL of energy. Well, little did we know, at the age of 26, he had a full Bi-polar manic break which landed him in a spiral. 3 DUI's, more arrests than I care to explain, lawyers on speed dial, doctors on faster speed dial, etc. As a family, we tried everything. We took away the car keys, he went and somehow bought a car! We took away to credit cards, his resources, etc. With the exception of kicking him out homeless we had no idea what to do. It wasn't until he was faced with potential prison time, we discovered The Last House. Honestly, I didn't think this would work. In my head, this was another \typical\ sober living....aka catering to drug addicts rather than what they ACTUALLY do, which is save lives. My brother has been sober now for 3 years, (he could tell you to the day how many since his last drink/substance). I can honestly say, this house saved my brother's life. 10000% THIS HOUSE PRODUCES RESULTS. They are easy to contact, honest, have a great straight forward system. They create a brotherhood and lasting results for their guys. They make living sober very tangible, and quite honestly fun. I am so thankful to this program. Thank you for giving me my brother back.

If you truly want your child to have the best chance possible for recovery then The Last House should be your one and only choice. My husband and I knew that a 3 or 6 month program wasn't enough. We also knew our son could not stay in NJ. Our son was looking for a very structured, 1 year sober living community and found The Last House in CA. Was having him move 3,000 miles away difficult?? Absolutely! However when we thought of the potential alternative scenarios, the choice was obvious. The Last House offers a very structured program that focuses on rebuilding the individual and slowly integrating them into the real world as a sober person. There are many different levels of achievement that closely follows the guidelines of AA. The unity, support, and camaraderie enable each person to feel like they belong and aren't alone. The communication we had with Andy about our son's progress was weekly. We had wanted things to progress a little faster for him so he could start working, but Andy assured us that he wasn't ready. There were things he needed to focus on before he could move to the next step. The staff knows clients intimately and won’t advance them until they are ready. We put our trust in Andy and we were not disappointed. The Last House gave us our son back. He just celebrated 1 year of sobriety. His thoughts are clear, he has a purpose and direction. He's the happiest I've seen in 8 years. He's going back to school. He will continue to have a phenomenal support system with the Last House for the rest of his life. My husband and I are forever grateful to Clayton, Chris, Andy, and the outstanding therapists, doctors, and staff of the Last House. This is the place to send anyone who has an addiction, if you want the greatest possibility for success. Caroline Cornelius

The staff at the Last House has been incredible! After interacting with several different programs, my son finally found The Last House. From my first phone call to current day, it’s been honest, straightforward and positive. I never felt like it’s about the money, as with other programs. I felt supported as a parent and was always free to check in and ask for an opinion (even after he graduated). I highly recommended this program, actually this community. I think that’s what sets them apart. They have built a community of structure, support and guidance to help the individuals learn to care for themselves, clean up and grow as a positive member of society. They also helped guide me in the proper support of my son. Today he has over 16 months sober. Something I truly never thought I’d see. I can’t say it enough ... The Last House community is second to none in sober living!

The Last House, in short, saved my life and that is a big statement but it is true. I was another person with nasty addiction problems and could not manage life at all. I was given a solution on how to be happy and live an actual life. I was introduced to so many people that helped put my life back on track, and given so many tools on how to deal with my addiction. The staff at the The Last House is amazing. Miles, Andy, Chris K, and Clayton are some the the most caring and hardworking people I have ever met. I am sober today and I don’t know if I would be if I did not complete the program at the last house. I did not want to complete it when I got there, but it was the best decision I ever made.

I first entered The Last House in Autumn of 2016. I was 24 years old, depressed, aimless, and hopelessly addicted to drugs and alcohol. I had just finished my second inpatient rehab and still could not imagine a life free of substance. I had no friendships to speak of. I had burned every bridge with my family. My outlook on life was grim. The Last House gave me a life I never could have envisioned for myself. The structure of this program implemented personal accountability for the first time in my life. I was introduced to a fellowship, a brotherhood that invigorated me to take positive action. I have been sober since that Autumn of 2016 and I have The Last House to thank. Today I am completely financially independent, totally abstinent from drugs and alcohol, and above all else, happy in my own skin. The Last House is a worthy investment for any individual, or family looking to make a positive change in their life. My endless gratitude extends to Andy, Clayton, Miles, Scott, and all of the other staff at the house for providing me with the tools to live the amazing life I enjoy today.
