The people were friendly. When I did a review of the vehicle before initial departure, I noticed a roof leak from the rain storm the night before in the over cab sleeping area. They quickly called the area on the roof and I left an hour later. The vehicle performed as expected and provided a good experience. A very UNFORTUNATE oversight occurred in the written contract. I originally made the order over the phone. When the in person check out was happening, I saw the advertisement for “zero dollar” deductible insurance that was available. The representative said she would add that to the rental agreement. We went out to the RV to review its condition. After discovering the water leak in the roof, they went into action to get it repaired. Apparently in the rush to get the leak fixed, the “zero dollar” deductible insurance was not added to the rental contract. In the signing and initialling process I did not notice the omission of the “zero dollar” deductible insurance. On my trip, I rubbed the RV on a gas station protective guard post. At that point I was very happy that I had requested the “zero dollar deductible” option. Upon returning the RV I was confronted with the fact that the representative did not add the zero dollar deductible option to the contract. As a result I was charge an extra 1500.00. I have sent an appeal to the national headquarters to have this charge reversed - we will see if Cruise America steps up to the plate to make things right.

The whole pick-up and return process was very smooth and efficient. In spite of rain, we were given a detailed walk-thru. We had a minor problem finding out how to turn off the dome light in the cab, but a phone call to Cruise America got a quick, easy answer. We over-packed and brought too much food, but there was plenty of storage and fridge space to handle it all. The team at Smith's was very pleasant and organized.
Everything worked. Had a great experience with local agency.
We had a really nice getaway in the motor home. A bit small for 5 people, so next time we will size up. Our first time renting an rv and it was pretty easy to figure it all out! We'll rent again :)
Rented a 30', got a call morning of pickup that only a 25' was available. They tried to give me an unsafe motorhome with major cracked windshield, bald tires, and filthy interior with moldy shower curtain. I was given another motorhome that was clean and safe, but water heater didn't work, kitchen kit was missing 80% of the supplies it should of had, and septic hose had holes. Will never rent from this group again.
