This is hands down the worst living arrangement I've ever experienced. On site managements only concern seems to be trying to find ways to evict people he doesn't like personally. He ignores Illinois covenant quiet enjoyment, included in every lease in Illinois whether written in or not due to a state law. This basically says notice must be given before your landlord may enter your home. So he frequently enters peoples apartments while they are not home, and in my case at 8:30pm while I was sleeping once, to search around for reason to fine resident at 300 dollars per offense. Part of the lease forces to to agree to a set of community policies that include a provision allowing them to change anything they want to change. He has also attempted to tow the cars of guests who showed up after office hours because the license plate wasn't registered and he knew they were visiting a resident he disliked. Cars of residents who have registered their cars have been towed, as well as had notices that if there were not registered they would be towed even though these cars where registered. There is also a case of one resident's mother receiving an email imploring her to not allow her child to move in with another resident because the property manager thinks this resident is dealing drugs. All in all if you don't mind have a landlord snoop through your apartment whenever he feels like it looking for any excuse to steal your money via fines, then this is the place for you. P.S. The review by Tania Twining is fake, she is an employee of the management company that is in charge of the Commons.

I love living at Sauk Commons! It is so close to school and has a nice environment to study in. I have met so many great new friends!

Worst living environment I've experienced. During the three months I spent there, the office is usually empty during the office hour. The guy in charge is extremely difficult to reach. The signal is terrible or none if you're using T-Mobile; I don't know about other network operator. The internet were available for only about 2-3 weeks and became unavailable for the rest of the summer. The cable as promised never worked for the entire summer. In the beginning of the summer, the guy in charge told me that the internet and cable will be fixed soon and they were never fixed by the end of the summer. I asked two of my classmates who previously Interned at nearby company and lived at Sauk Commons. They said the manager told them the same thing as he told me. I don't cook but the stove does not work. The neighbors were immature and idiotic; might be the students from the Sauk Valley College I don't know. They often made noise at night and left a life sized doll with a penis outside my door. If you're annoyed by bugs: At night, a huge number of bugs gathered like clouds in front of the doors where the lights are because the place is surrounded by trees and bushes. Overall, it is very expensive for such a terrible environment. It is my fault that I didn't look hard enough for alternatives but I would definitely not recommend this place for summer lease or long-term lease. It is not worth the money.
