Quaint & meticulously clean. Hubby loved his hot Italian Hoagie, very generous portions of meats n cheeses. My quiche (broccoli /cheese) was well prepared (heated from refrigeration) chock full of nicely steamed broccoli, not mushy or too crunchy. But it was bland I'm sorry to say, ( and for being a Bakery & Restaurant, the crust was meh. Nicely served w fresh fruit salad n fresh home baked roll ) We both ordered dessert since lots of selections in in bakery case. My Boston Cream pie 6.95 was terribly dry with the pudding filling having gone rubbery. I only ate the chocolate icing, also old. Our nice waiter / baker sounded surprised when i told him, "oh, really?" No offer of replacement, we were traveling, I didnt push it. Same waiter rang us out and didn't remove from our bill. Hubby got bread pudding,4.95 again good ingredients but very dry even though heated. Whipped cream was offered but no drizzled icing or lemon sauce on it. We took it home barely touched and it was ok after drowned in icing. Cute place but very disappointed in baked goods.

A beautiful historic home that houses cheerful art, delicious bakery items, home made sandwiches and baked potatoes. Great for breakfast for a quiet lunch. Side note: I'm 10000% in love with their renovated kitchen. Stop in to see it if nothing else. Truly a working piece of art in itself. Seriously.
We (4 adults, 5 children between 11 and 16 years old) were looking for a place for lunch in between the Flight 93 Memorial and Coral Cavern, and The Schell House exceeded all expectations! We phoned en route, since we saw that a table for 9 would be quite large for their capacity, and they had our table waiting when we arrived. The food and desserts (!) were delicious, and the service was outstanding in every way. We also really enjoyed looking around the gift shop/gallery. Definitely recommend eating here if you are anywhere close to the area!
The food was absolutely phenomenal. The loaded baked potatoes were fabulous. The baked goods they have were unreal! We are definitely going to be back - the service was so wonderful also! What an amazing find!

Quaint luncheon place. Portions were filling and tasty. They had wonderful looking baked goods but we were so full after lunch, we didn't get to try any of them.
We've dined here several times now, and it's always been lovely. Quality ingredients, well-prepared, and a lovely environment. The gourmet grilled cheese is fabulous! Worth a visit for sure.
So glad we took the time to stop in and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and special experience the Schell House provides! The breakfast omlette and sandwiches were very fresh and satisfying. We also enjoyed some of their delicious baked items and browsing (shopping) the unique variety of handmade gifts. We will definitely be back to try their specialty baked potatoes for lunch.
