A gem of a small museum in the heart of Roanoke. More geared towards children, though as adults we enjoyed our visit. We spent a couple of hours here looking at everything. Some of the exhibits were not working, but this did not spoil our enjoyment too much. We were disappointed with the Butterfly garden though. It looked liked of dead in there foliage wise, and there were not may Butterfly's to be seen.

Staff is helpful and friendly. There are salt water aquariums throughout the lobby. The museum offers lots of hands on activities to explore. We ended up buying a membership at the end of our visit. It will save you money if you plan to visit more than once a year.

The kids enjoyed themselves. Some of the exhibits are dated, and some were not in service. The building is nice, especially the top floor observation deck.

Pay attention to the website for Family Specials. Got three kids and two adults in for 15. I would have given this 5 stars except for that more than a few attractions were either broken or turned off. Maybe because we went during an off-season time frame? Otherwise, this place was fantastic. Lots of Stem activities. Very hands on and plenty of opportunities to learn the different kinds of sciences, Geology, anatomy, astrology, and physics just to name a few. My favorite attraction was the NASA space simulators. Allows you to build a rocket, launch it and land it on the moon, as well as other "Missions". There are also aquariums and terrariums filled with a variety of species. All in all, totally worth going especially if you can get the family discount. Highly recommend.

The exhibits that worked were nice but very dated. The planetarium is closed therefore I found it a bit expensive for such a small museum.

Very fun, each floor is nice, ranging from pinball to arcade, science of technology to fish, and much more. Recommended to visit with a partner, or family. Closed on Mondays, but have a good time schedule. Price is worth going there. Go there and have a grand ol time. Also features a Pokemon Go pokestop.

Great fun to play with your children at science exhibits! Much smart stuff to do here!
