This year 2018, First Reformed Church of Scotia marked its 200th anniversary. On January 21, 2018, the church had its first event to mark its 200th anniversary, which was the kick-off breakfast, and on November 18, 2018 (Sunday before Thanksgiving), the church held a special commemorative Sunday Worship Service, a 1/2 hour early at 9:30am, instead of 10 am. The church was established back in 1818 (see the cover of that commemorative bulletin from the special worship service in Google Maps). Also included with the Google Maps shows a 1960s photo of the grounds of First Reformed Church of Scotia before the education wing was built. The Lakehill House (between the Sanctuary and Brink Hall) was demolished to make room for the current education wing where the current lakehill room, the christian education classrooms, two offices (one for a Senior Pastor, and other for the Associate Pastor), and library are located today. Now since I live in Scotia, FRC Scotia now has become my new home church. In the year 2043, the church will mark its 225th anniversary, and in the year 2068, its 250th anniversary. Once a year every March or April, the church holds a Fowler spaghetti dinner and cake auction in Brink Hall to help raise money for Camp Fowler in Speculator, NY. Here pictured is the ticket from March 21st 2020 for the Fowler Spaghetti dinner and cake auction held at the church in Brink Hall. (in 2020, it was cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak-crowd density because of the strict CDC guidance rules). It will not happen again until 2021. I also made new friends at the church.
