This review is from a stay 3 years ago. My Life Partner stayed here for about 3 weeks or so back in Nov/Dec 2017 after a fall and head injury which exasperated his Dementia. He was sent for rehab and this was supposedly one of the better facilities. He fell the first night or so after he got there. He wandered into another patient's room via the shared bathroom. They are not allowed to restrain patients, which may have prevented this. They just did not have enough staff to watch them frequently enough. On one occassion, he was dropped off via Para Transit after dialysis in a wheelchair and was sitting in front of nurses station waiting to be taken back to his room. This was around 9 pm. He wheeled himself out the front doors and tipped over in the wheelchair. No one minding the front! I was not happy when I got that call from the charge nurse! For the life of me, I do not understand how they care for Dementia patients like this. There were a couple of good CNAs and the PT staff was great.

Some of the staff ignores me when I try to get their attention. My loved ones light stays on for over 1/2 hour just to get someone to come in and see what she wants. I know she is a difficult person but that doesn't mean she should be ignored. It is a nice facility and there are some very nice staff members. There have been occasions where they are understaffed and the place has an odor, but most of the time it's okay.

The Haven of Scottsdale is an incredible place. My father was admitted there, and he instantly loved it! The atmosphere is warm and pleasant and the nurses/care team and staff are top notch. We felt at ease knowing he was there being cared for. I highly recommend The Haven for anyone who requires skilled nursing care!

My mother recently stayed here and it traumatized her. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of care and attention my mother received. She had to wait HOURS before anyone would help her, once waiting six hours for them to bring her the pain medication she needed. Her wound got infected while there and they said it looked “normal” when it absolutely wasn’t and they should have given her an antibiotic and actually helped her. None of what she is suffering now should have happened had this place actually done their job. Horrible place.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! The staff at the hospital gave our a family a list of facilities to tour for our loved one. After touring various facilities we came to Haven of Scottsdale and found it to be a perfect setting with great lighting and friendly staff. The rep from their facility also stopped by the hospital to speak with us and was truly genuine as he educated us on what they focus on. He assured us that we were making the right decision and I’m glad we chose Haven or Scottsdale. Thanks to all the staff!
