As the name states AAL mainly deals with people needing an Artificial Limb. I've been a client to AAL for 39 years, I've seen 3 owner changes each only selling because they where retiring. In all 3 cases employee's became owners. These guys are specialist dealing with people needing artificial limbs and over the 39 years things have changed and each time when you are trying something new it does not always fit the first time. The current one I have I've been in the office at least 3 times for adjustments. First time wanting to throw it through the door but now with the adjustments I'm very happy. I still may need a small adjustment but overall things are working well. They are dedicated to getting the job done right! Thanks AAL for keeping me mobile!

I am a below the knee amputee and needed diabetic shoes before year end. These people made it happen with plenty of time to spare. They are terrific listeners and were more than accommodating in getting me the shoes that I know work best for me. At least three times other diabetic shoe suppliers have insisted on putting me in shoes that I knew from the start would not work for me - they collect dust on the shelf - unworn - as I’m unsteady, uncomfortable, and forced to walk in a gait that is unnatural for me. Not here! THESE GUYS ARE ROCK STARS!!! I would not hesitate to send anyone here! They are all wonderful, from my first call, reception, first appointment, and fitting and delivery. John Shaffer LPO, CPO made sure everything from the shoes to the custom built orthotics were just right for me before I left. The other guys gave me a plain flat insert without any of the special support and shaping that I needed - not here!! John tailored each insert perfectly and really listened to my input and requests, incorporating it all for a perfect fit. I’m coming here for my diabetic shoes and inserts as long as they’ll have me! . My experience was really fun - I left after each visit with a smile on my face. I trust them and recommend them for all of the services they provide. My prosthetics are good for now- but I would be really pleased to work with American Artificial Limb on the prosthetics and braces that I use too! -(drop foot AFO, low back, and knee braces.) Sincerely, Lori Waddell

These are good people. However, their selection of braces is meager and their no returns policy is unfortunate. I suspect they cater more to people needing artificial limbs.I ended up with an Ossur brace that still doesn't fit me and as it costs me a ferry round trip to go over there I decided to look elsewhere. Select Orthopedics in Lynnwood had a better selection of knee braces and I ended up with one that fits and feels perfect and dies exactly wha I needed it to. It was also half the cost and they didn't mind me walking in off the tsreet rather than having to schedule an appointment. If you get referred to AAL consider changing the referral to SO - you will end up with a better choice of options.

I needed a brace while I waited for knee replacement surgery. First brace I was fitted for was custom made for me but now matter how many adjustments, the brace dug into my shin. The second brace they ordered was \off the shelf\. Many visits of adjusting, bending, velcro-ing, and still the brace will not support and fits horribly. I asked for a refund since I was unable to use the brace and was told it was not possible. I called the manufacturer and they said the brace was guaranteed for a year but AAL refused to accommodate. Now I'm stuck with a useless brace and an expense I can't afford. I found a brace at Select Orthopedics in Lynnwood that fits wonderfully for half the price. I did try to make the other braces work!
