I’ve talked to multiple people of color who’ve gone to this store and have experienced equally unpleasant customer experience. The folks who work here seemed to be alarmed and overwhelmed about COVID but when looking around it really seemed like they were just alarmed and untrusting of me - which is really strange bc I didn’t do anything to warrant that behavior. Beyond the experience though, I bought a fiddle leaf fig plant from here for 60 that admittedly wasn’t at its best health, thinking I could nurse it back. But when I finally took a look at the root of the problem several months later, I finally understood why it wasn’t growing or making much improvement - the plant was intensely overcrowded and actually had three root systems crammed into one tiny pot.

We drove 30 minutes calling ahead to see about prices, to make it worthwhile. Staff was helpful and personable via phone, prices sounded like they would be reasonable compared to other plant spots like Peace, Love & Plants in Fremont ( love y’hip but gotta pay bills before plants ) so we were on our way. Street parking is available along with a small gravel parking lot on the side of the building. Due to Covid, you can’t enter the building from the lot so a quick walk up the sidewalk and you’re in the outdoor plant space. Now, it’s good to mention we were excited about experiencing a new place, space, plants, local business etc. I’m saying that because we were in a positive place. It was the vibe, that led me to rate this a ‘3’. Have you ever been somewhere and they didn’t do anything specifically but it just didn’t feel right and for some reason you didn’t feel welcome..well that was this place. While checking out all the cool things in the gift shop, no one greeted or asked if we needed help. I overheard the woman who was either the owner or manager gossiping about a customer, openly. We asked about an available restroom and they said it was out of order. While there, for some weird reason that I can’t figure out, it felt unusually awkward. Remember, we were excited about going! We liked the plants, what they had in the gift shop and the selection of gifts and plants gave the eyes and senses lots to enjoy. Prices were about average for what you would expect for a specialty store with plants and gifts in Seattle. We plan on returning and figure everyone should get a second chance..........a re-do! We are local business lovers and as a community we are going through a lot right now so why not! It’s important for the positive to prevail and win the day in all we do. Not easy but necessary. Life is too short not too. For the Love of Plants We persevere ;]

Bought a plant here and within a week started developing a mold. Gave them a call to get an understanding of what was going on and was told it was probably overwatered in the store but to let it dry out and it should be fine. Fast forward a lil bit and one of the dracaena has died. Brought it in to exchange but was told it has been over a week and cannot do so. I would have exchanged it when I first called if I’d have known it’d be a problem exchanging it later...

Gift shop and large plant shop with lots of pots, friendly helpful staff, small line to get inside, maintaining good social distancing.

My favorite go-to place. Be sure to look in every corner! You might need it!
