Mandolin was so patient and kind teaching my friend and I how to make a hardcover book at one of her evening classes. We both walked away so happy to have found a new skill set and hobby (we need LOTS of practice still though- it's hard!) and to have had such a relaxing and nurturing environment to try something new. Loved it!

I love the wonderful selection at the Grapheme shop, as well as the fun, useful courses led by Mandolin. I've also purchased original letterpress prints by Grapheme, which are exceptional in their design and quality. This is one of my favorite places in all of Seattle!
This store is a must visit for anyone who loves paper (that's everyone, right?) It's stocked with the best ephemera--from delightful cards to 3D paper sculptures to gorgeous prints. What makes it even cooler is that it's an actual working letterpress shop! You can see how everything is made and even take classes or rent space if you are intrigued by the process (again--isn't everyone?) Whether you want to get a unique gift or make a commitment to your creative self, Grapheme is the place to do it.
