I guess my experience in August 2017 was unusual but not unheard of, based on other reviews. Dropped my Expobar off for some cleaning, replacements, and a general once-over since it was used when I got it a few years earlier. Picked it up and it seemed dirtier and very obviously requested things hadn’t been replaced. The technician I spoke with blew off my questions about this, seemed unprepared to discuss my machine even though I’d confirmed I was coming to get the machine, and seemed to know little about the machine, what had been done to it for two weeks or who had done (or not done) it. I see others with machines new to them got good service with demonstrations and explanations. I do also see a lot of them are men? I can’t know if that’s the issue, but they did offer to carry my machine to my car (no thanks) after saying it’s a great machine over and over. It worked no better after I brought it home. It’s an older machine, built in 2003. I expect it to need work. That’s reasonable. I just don’t expect to get charged 150 for what seemed to be nothing (based on appearance and discussion). The machine now needs obvious maintenance and I’m looking for another shop.

If you want it fixed right by someone who KNOWS what they're doing, and is likely to tell you what's wrong with your machine before you reach the counter from the door... go here! Although there are two parking spaces behind the shop, they are a nightmare to back out of. Shop owner will tell you the secret, but you're better off parking on a neighboring street, unless your espresso machine weighs 100 lbs. Service is quick, even on older models. Fun shop to visit if you want to look at vintage and specialty machines too. This shop is Seattle at its finest!

For a home espresso machine repair, Will is the absolute best resource in all of Seattle. Having been an ex-expresso machine technician, I can attest to his capabilities. He has an adorable shop!
