Michael is an excellent teacher. My husband is a beginner and is learning a lot and very quickly. I took piano as a child and teen. Michael is helping me remember and relearn, while also teaching me so much I didn’t know before. He evens gives us tips on how to teach our 3 year old to play! He has a well-developed pedagogy and sends us a recording of our lesson with a detailed description of what we learned each week. I highly recommend him for piano players at all levels.

I have been taking piano lessons with Michael since October 2016. Micheal's approach to teaching is comprehensive and fun and is rooted in understanding the essence of the piano itself and music theory. He is very passionate about music and really enjoys teaching. He teaches with methods that are outside of traditional piano books and uses materials that build upon each weeks lessons. I have been very impressed with how much I have learned in a little over two years. Michael is a very patient instructor and learning from him has been an extremely fun and exciting experience. He truly cares that his students are learning and comprehending the material and is very in tune with how each person learns. In a little over two years I have made great progress with Michael’s teaching methods and have had great exposure to music theory, sight reading, and other music fundamentals. I am able to pick up sheet music for many songs, and while it may take me time, I am able to figure out how to play the songs. It has been so rewarding. If you want to learn to play music, desire to understand music, and want to be able to play your favorite songs, and learn to create music I would highly suggest working with Michael.

Michael's knowledge of music and teaching is extensive and he has designed a system so that he is able to share his knowledge to beginners and already experienced persons. Micheal is thorough and understands that learning to play is not easy for everyone. I feel fortunate to have excess to such a knowledgeable music lover.

I had anxiety in the first couple weeks learning the piano, with the guidance & teaching of Michael I am growing more confident in practice and playing ability. He does an amazing job keeping the lesson style very simple step by step for me, so that it does not feel overwhelming. One important thing I have taken away so far is music & playing an instrument is a lifelong endeavor. There is no rush in trying to learn everything in a matter of months.
