I called mutual benefits for help choosing medicare supplemental insurance. Spoke with Denise and a meeting was set up with Sarah for the following week. The day of the appointment, Sarah was a no show. I called mutual benefits and there was no response. no one answered the phone. I called a few days later and still no one answered the phone. Very strange and odd behavior from an insurance company

Everyone should know about this place. First, they offer a *free* service for choosing health care plans, yet they are unbiased because their pay isn't coming from insurance companies. They call themselves advocates for the buyer. We have used them for 3 years now and haven't even had to go in for a face to face because our plans were simple enough we could stick to email and phone consults. (Be nicer than us and remember to do this asap - not a few days before the open enrollment deadline.) We gave them a list of what our ideal plan would look like (some of it pie in the sky), they narrowed it down to 2 or 3 which fit the closest. From there we asked about confusions, pros and cons, copays, coinsurance, out of pocket maximums and every other annoying thing. Then, for a little cost benefit analysis of our own, checked which of our practitioners were in network, and which medications weren't covered. Then they helped us sign up. We would have been looking at plans for days narrowing it down. The point is, they simplified the process enormously, and we only scratched the surface of how they can help. They do life insurance, too, and benefits for businesses.
