In the spirit of leaving constructive feedback (albeit 5 months later), I didn't have quite the best experience here. I signed up for 2 months of membership, but felt overloaded with all the detailed instructions and directions and rules. I had been doing pottery for 2 years and at 3 different studios already and had not experienced as much complication over how things work. Sean's communications are initially very organized, but communication between myself and his other teachers got mixed. He told me I didn't need to do the first intro class because he personally walked me through it all inside, then I was scolded for glazing before taking a glazing class (see experience above... But I didn't even realize there was a prerequisite for glazing... But perhaps that part was overlooked by all the other details I studied). The glazes felt watered down, the supplies offered are the cheapest quality and not always consistent, but the space and instructors were very nice. If there wasn't a class going on, it felt too intrusive to interrupt a long conversation to ask for help. My work reflected it. There is a community base that gets established here (from what I see in the other reviews), but for those of you who are looking for simply open studio time not directed by a series of classes, this isn't a good fit. quite expensive to boot.
Sean’s Clay Corner is a fantastic and versatile studio and class space. It is well managed and has a great cooperative, encouraging and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for all levels of ceramics enthusiasts.
excellent creative space, easy to find, great instructors, low key no pressure opportunity to learn pottery basics and advanced pottery skills. Sean the owner is a master at bringing out the best in his students and their creative inner talent. In the heart of Fremont, close to SPU, very well located.
I absolutely love this place. I was gifted 2 months of unlimited classes and studio time by my fiancé as a birthday gift, and he couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. I was nervous getting started as a total newbie to pottery, but Sean is so welcoming and an excellent teacher. I felt comfortable in no time and can't wait to get back into the beautiful, light studio space between visits.
