Great faith-filled environment! Academics are okay, not as good as other schools in Washington. Wouldn’t recommend this school if you want your kid to be great in high school but the school is good in disciplining kids and making them have good values anyways so
like
My cousin’s son went here. Spiritually it’s a fantastic school and for the most part, does a decent job of instilling faith values in the students. Your child will hopefully come out as disciplined, well-rounded individual which the school excels in here. Academically the school has much room for improvement though. Most students that graduate end up being below to close to average in high school. Your child will have to work much harder in high school if they want to succeed compared to other schools. If you want your child to be spiritually-driven and faith-filled then this school is good for them. However, the school from an academic standpoint is subpar and would NOT recommend STCA if you want your child to be prepared for high school and college.
The staff really enjoy working with children to help them be their best!
A beautiful community, the current principal is extremely kind and a very spiritual person, the religious experience is one of the best in the state, academics are pretty good but it could have some improvements though, I wish in particular that the staff would remain consistent though, it seems like they constantly change staff every couple years or so, but the community is still amazing regardless, most of the kids are very respectful and kind, the behavior of the students has improved steadily thanks to the changes the current principal has brought. The Blended Technology is also very good to, the school does an excellent job of balancing technology with regular paper assignments so it's not like you spend 100% of everything on a computer. There is also a good diversity of people there to, would be nice to see slightly more diversity among the teachers but they are all great teachers so it's a minor thing really. Overall, it's a wonderful school that focuses on helping these young children become spiritual leaders and connecting to Christ. It has minor flaws obviously, it's not a perfect school, but it's not a major problem that needs to be addressed or anything. If you're looking for excellent Catholic schools in the Seattle area, I would recommend all of them but if you're looking for a small and amazing community, I would definitely recommend attending St. Therese. They are very welcoming to new people and students, and the teachers are also very kind and are excellent role models for anyone to look up to!
My son is in the 5th grade. This is our first year at St. Theresa Catholic Academy. Prior to enrolling here, we were in the Seattle Public schools. Unfortunately, my son's reading comprehension and overall attitude towards education was very negative. It was not because he had a learning deficiencies but rather a refusal to apply himself. Fortunately, St. Theresa Catholic Academy provided healthy environment to thrive with the support of all the staff. The school environment provides small community feel, where everybody knows everyone's name and your child isn't just a number. I am now happy to report that my son is challenging himself and has tremendously improved in many areas not just academly. Lastly, the blended learning technology is stellar.
Good school overall I would highly recommend this school to anyone, however math program could be a bit better though, some of the staff could be more polite to it's not a huge issue though 95% of the staff there are absolutely awesome, academics are great but it could be more challenging and harder, it's slightly too easy and i've visited other schools and i feel like their academics are harder and more challenging which is good for preparing for high school, faculty and staff seems to change every 2-4 years, some staff, especially teachers, work there for about 2-4 years then leave so it seems like they constantly change teachers every few years, not a lot stay for a long time and the ones that have, have mostly left. it's a good school though the faith experience is absolutely awesome, would highly recommend but the academic level needs to be raised to a higher standard, but still great school would give it a 5/5 if the academics were at a higher standard.
Great multiple cultural student body. Blended learning curriculum. Strong faith community.
Great teachers and principal. My son has been going there for three years now and he has learned so much. There's a small community feel, where everybody knows everyone's name and your child isn't just a number. Their blended learning technology is stellar! The school has come long ways under the new leadership. I am enrolling my other son now for preschool for sure!
