If you have read Boys in the Boat (or are interested in rowing, the UW or Olympic history) this tour is a must do. You get to see the actual Olympic shell, one of the actual gold medals and learn what it's like to be a part of a UW crew team. A must do!

This is a beautiful rowing facility. Its history and traditions are evident throughout, allowing both athletes and visitors a tangible connection to the past.

My father loved his time on the U of W 55 freshman crew. Great stories.

I read the boys in the boat a few years ago and it was truly a transformative book for me. As a former rower, I appreciated not only how brown eloquently described the sport but also the the incredible backstory of these amazing athletes. By sheer chance, I found myself in Seattle and immediately knew that I would pay a visit to the boathouse. Unfortunately, I did not visit on a day the tour was running. But I walked down to the boathouse and launching site anyhow. What a beautiful place!! I am so grateful to have seen the boathouse that to this day houses the boys of '36 racing shell. Thank you!

A friend and I visited the University of Washington Shell House after reading the book \The Boys in the Boat\. Great experience.
