I was looking for an arborist to check out one of my trees that was starting to die. I was on Google for a couple of days looking for answers and came up with a few possible causes, but I just wasn't sure. I called #1 Tree Service and was put in contact with Javier, the owner. He came out and almost immediately identified the main problem as scales. In all my time on Google, I didn't see a single mention of scales. I'd never even heard of scales. Javier showed me how to confirm it was scales and recommended specific products I could use to treat the tree. He was very thorough and even recommended different products to use during the dormant winter months. I've read that scales are very difficult to treat, but luckily I have one of the (somewhat obscure) products he most recommended using and have already started treatment. He also gave me specific recommendations on how to most effectively fertilize the tree, which will be my next step. Hopefully the tree can recover. My house is only 6 years old and the sick tree was my biggest and nicest tree. Even if I can't save it, I'm very grateful for the advice he gave. I have confidence he gave good, solid advice and would recommend him to anyone with tree questions. Thank you Javier!
