Great trail, though primatively maintained. It is not for the faint of heart. There are 3 water crossings which can be challenging depending on rain/runoff. If you aren't comfortable with that, best to turn around at the first crossing. There is a public use cabin about halfway up the trail, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. This trail ultimately connects to the Russian Lakes trail in Cooper Landing, making a long trip for those who are prepared. Bears are not uncommon on this trail. Bring bear spray and practice bear safety.
