Would give it five stars, as it IS a genuinely scary ride, your first couple of times (as it'll feel as though it suddenly broke and got stuck, one of the last times, going up) but it's a bit to jerky and painful in my opinion... a little more padding on the bars and whatnot would honestly go a long ways. All in all, though, great ride.

An amazing ride. Definitely worth any wait.
On the second time I went here when the holding brake held the train, I thought the ride broke for a second lol
Terrifying the first time, but still awesome. You will accelerate to a speed of 68 MPH in a few seconds, before booking it up a vertical twisted spike. You will then fall backwards into another launch before launching up the backwards spike facing downwards. You will then do this again, going higher each time. Watch out for the holding break on the backwards spike! Since the ride is so short, the operations are great, even when only running one train. Definitely one of the most thrilling rides in the park. I wish it was longer though. Another launch would be great. The ride operators often give you a countdown but launch early, taking you by surprise. All in all, a great Intamin Impulse Coaster.
I love it! But I would not recommend it if you don't like hitting your head or getting tossed around in the seat or the could it is very bad in the could you will not be able to feel your legs
My favorite ride at Valleyfair! Always exciting, no matter how many times you ride it. The ride operators have a sense of humor sometimes, and during the count down to launch, they launch early to catch you off guard. It's fun!
Steel Venom is one of my personal favorite rides at Valley Fair. It is exciting from start to finish and it is must to rides it every time I go. The sounds it makes really surprise me, I'm not sure of there are speakers or if it is the ride itself. The thing I don't like about this ride are the seats. They say you cannot be more than 78 inches tall to ride and I am 72 inches tall. The seats are shaped in a way as to where if you are too tall it will dig onto the back of your head, which really sucks.
One of my favorite rides. I love how fast it goes and when it stops and shakes.
