Wonderful historical site with lots of information on the battle itself and the men who fought in it. It's a beautiful and somber experience walking Bloody Lane in the crisp air and snow crunching under foot as you imagine the boom of cannons and shrapnel, the sharp crack of musket fire and the clashing of bayonets as the Union pushed forward into the sunken road and drove the Confederates from their position, men dying left and right on both sides, some maybe even brother and brother or father and son. I highly recommend coming to this sight and taking in all the rich, and more often that not, sorrowful, part of our history, and that still lives on today thanks to the National Park Service

Another wonderful piece of American history! Great place to visit and spend the afternoon!
This is a remarkable place to visit! It's very similar to Gettysburg. I did the 10 mile hike around the Battlefield and saw a lot of interesting historical markers that you couldnt see from the typical vehicle tour around the park.
A great acquaintance and I walk here three days out of the week. Exquisite sights and wonderful history. I’m glad I moved my family to this state, there’s always some place to explore and something to do. The drive isn’t bad in my opinion(I love to drive though. LOL!) The staff are educated on the history and about the property. Take trip out here, you’ll be happy you did. I’m an accomplished traveler(sometimes I forget to do my reviews. I’m busy exploring. LOL!)
Well worth the trip. To tour the Battlefield was something I've always wanted to do. To see the amount of land it covered was surprising and there are plaques and statues commemorating the great Union men that gave their lives so the United States would continue forward.
