Love this park. The most adorable park with historical buildings and info pertaining to them well displayed and easy to read. Beautiful & well kept grounds (very much appreciate the poison ivy warning sign! Allowed us the opportunity to teach our daughter what poison ivy looked like... Thank you!) It's a cute little location that's nice for a stroll, a relaxing rest and some history. We'll definitely return.

This place is a gem. Locals don't know what a good thing they've got. I say the old piece of junk jail on the waterfront should be knocked down and donated to the Historical Society. Build a modern jail and courthouse closer to Hwy. 29 and use the waterfront for better community purposes! Major festivals would be popular on a waterfront location like this. The more public access waterfront, the better! The historical Society has done great things with donated money. What they could do for the community if they have City & County support! The site of Shawano County's first sawmill built in 1843. Five museums include the Kast House built on site in 1871, schoolhouse built in 1895, reconstructed 1800's log cabin, 1930's limestone building, and \Oil House\ now an agricultural museum. Limited hours of operation, so check their website before you make plans to go. You won't find much about this place on the Chamber of Commerce, county or city websites.
