They have a great exhibition at the Earl Scruggs Center a black architects some were slaves and some were free. There is a lot of information about the contributions that slaves made through the architectural design throughout North Carolina. Shelby, North Carolina's history of black architects is displayed in detail.

Hidden gem in Shelby. Interactive activity, ear buds to listen to music and historical events. Can practice your skill on banjos upstairs. Docents to get you acclimated. FREE FOR MILITARY. Try Toscana resturant next door. Parking available on square during week.
