Rented a pole saw, got it home chain was locked up. Week later rented another, couldn't keep it running. End of story, went to Flanagans and bought my own.

UPDATE- Made the mistake of renting again, tried to charge me for being late, even though the website says tool rental opens at 10 am. Couldn't use the towing lights because last person drug the cord. The employee said it was no big deal since I wasn't going far. Attempted to charge cleaning fee, even though it is just as clean as I got it. I have officially learned my lesson NEVER AGAIN. Over charged by 600.00. No one seemed to care. I rented a skid steer. It was dirty. Was told I needed to bring it back clean and the last guy was charged 200. So, they charged him 200, but did not clean it, but I am now responsible for bringing it back clean. I was told upon return that I should have received a discount for the dirty machine. But yet, he did not give me one. When I talked to a manager about my card being ran 3 times instead of once, they said it should be back in my account in 2 to 3 days. Not sure why I have to go without 600 for 3 days because of their mistake. No offer to make it right by the manager. Home depot just lost another customer to Lowe's. An apology would have been nice......

Equipment rental is a joke. First time we got a skid steer. Everything was great till it got dark @ 5pm because it's wintertime. We rented it for 24hr and it has lights so rock on! Nope... None of the lights worked so I got about 6 hours of my 24hr rental that day. Had to return it early the next morning so I didn't get a chance to finish my job completely. So I told the guy at the counter about my frustration about the lights. His solution was \Thoes havnt worked in years.\ that made me feel a lot better... So first trip was annoying because I wasn't able to finish the job I was working on because of poorly maintained equipment. Second trip. We go to rent an nice auger, you know the ones you walk behind or equipe to a tractor or skid steer. The one that did work was already rented, and the 2 other ones on site were broken and wouldn't be repaired for another 3-4 days. Can't really wait 3-4 days when the cows can get out. So second trip was a complete bust due to broken equipment. Third trip. We go in to get a trencher to run a power line underground to a gate. Seems simple enough till you get to the rental counter and they tell you the 2 trenchers outside are broken and the little one will never be repaired \I'm not sure why it's outside advertising if it will never run\ and that the other one will be repaired sometime during the week. The only one that does work is rented out and they don't know when it will be back. So third trip was a complete bust due to broken equipment. So to summarize, if you are wanting to rent big equipment from the Home Depot in Sherman TX I would recommend staying as far away from them as you can because if it's not broken it probably will when you are using it.

Equipment rental is terrible... equipment is always broken or they won't rent it to you without a one ton truck. I have a 3/4 and pull a 8500 lbs RV around all the time! A little 5500 lbs digger is nothing..
