My 84 year old father, and myself booked a tour this week. Not being from Maine, nor being familiar with Moose tours, I called the day before to join a tour. The man who answered was very nice and briefly told me about the tour. The next day we arrived, we were told it was a 4 hour tour and extremely bumpy. My 84 year old dad has had two hip surgeries and obviously not in his prime to be getting in and out of the van and the extreme bumpy road. Myself being 53, and severe back issues and past surgeries didn't realize this was not an activity for either of us until our tour guide spoke with us. He told us to go in and ask for a refund. We were willing to pay a penalty as well. The woman at the desk was so so so mean and rude. No compassion whatsoever. She thought we were just trying to back out for the heck of it instead of because of physical problems, and actually outright said this to us. Our tour guide was nice. The woman was horrible. I've been in bed for two days because of the bouncing and jarring the van did. This really isn't an activity if your someone who can't sit for long periods of time or have medical issues such as ours. Hopefully this helps anyone trying to decide.

My daughter and I had a great time rafting down the Kennebec with Casey. He was knowledgeable and humorous and really added to our overall experience. We would definitely recommend Northeast Whitewater!

Due to Covid, there needs to be some sort of air flow in the van, such as opening the windows or something, although you couldn't open the windows. Also, two hours before starting the trip, we asked the office if masks would be required and they told us that they'd ask everyone to wear their masks. When we boarded the van, for the first 1.5 hours of the tour, 3 out of the 9 people had taken off their mask. I did not feel comfortable confronting the people, so after the first 1.5 hours, when we got off the van to go look for moose, I told our tour leader to ask them to put on their masks. He said he would do so. Rather than telling them face to face, he told them from the front of the van. He also did not check again to make sure everyone was wearing their masks later on. The 3 people initially put on their masks when he first asked (only over their mouths, not their noses). Within 10 minutes, they took off their masks and the tour leader never again checked to see if they kept their masks on. We called the office the next day to let them know about our experience. They were extremely rude and said we were being very unreasonable and said we shouldn't have come on this trip, since it didn't meet our standards, even though its the state of Maine's standard to wear masks in pubic. I was frustrated and did not feel comfortable at all during the whole tour and would not recommend this company during this time.

We loved everything about this trip. Our guide Casey was interactive with each person in the group, and had a great sense of humor throughout. The entire trip was very entertaining and full of excitement. Even the lunch was fantastic! We can’t wait to come back for another experience with Northeast Whitewater!

I would like to first off, give five stars to the bus drivers for being able to navigate those logging roads. They must be more careful than I am, because Golden State Road took out one of my tires on my way to Baxter State Park! So thanks to them for making sure we got to and from both rivers safely! Continuing on, I stayed at the campground for three pleasant nights in a tent. The site was not difficult to walk to from my vehicle, and I definitely could tell it was new. I was surprised to hear that each campsite has a trashcan at it during check-in. While I was there however, I did not see any wildlife in the campground except for some birds. The bathrooms were clean for me, so I also had no issue there. The sink for washing dishes outside was fine as well. What definitely will make me come back is the wonderful service that I received from everyone there. Everyone was knowledgeable of the Greenville area, which was quite helpful. They definitely made sure that I had fun on both the Kennebec with Harrison as my guide and the Penobscot River with Jack as my guide. Everything was as advertised, and reasonably priced. While we did have fun, they did make sure to properly go over safety protocols on our way to the rivers in a clear and concise way, which is always reassuring to me. The river barbecue was delicious and filling. Five stars for the brownies as well. The photographs taken of me as well were great, I had plenty from throughout both days that were wonderful action shots. Check-ins each day were painless to do as well. Bottom line, if you want to raft the Kennebec or the Penobscot, this definitely is the place to book!
