As a Palestinian who's been discouraged by several of the Arabic food options I've had the misfortune of trying in the area, Uptowne Mediterranean Restaurant is a goldmine of deliciousness! Their kibbeh balls, meat pies, and kafta are just as flavorful as the ones my mom makes, the hummus tastes homemade and authentic (nothing like the store-bought stuff), and the lamb is spiced to perfection \u003c3 HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended! يعطيكو الف الف عافية!

We really enjoyed our lunch here! I'm still exuding the wonderful garlic sauce!! Five stars for the food! Unfortunately, nobody was at the counter to greet us or help us. We grabbed menus from the counter and sat for ten full minutes before the chef came out and took our order because the server \wasn't available.\. The server came out to clarify our order, and fifteen minutes after we sat ourselves, she brought out our drinks. The server's cell phone went off with loud ring tone six times while we ate. She stood laughing and chatting throughout our meal. Ten minutes after finishing our meal, I brought my cup to her for a refill, and then interrupted another phone call she was laughing through to ask her to wrap our leftovers and ask for check. She was nice and the food was good, but I can see why we were the only ones there. Service is seriously lacking. Three tables dirty when we arrived we're dirty when we left. This may be a great take out only place in our future.

The BEST shawarma in Massachusetts - hands down! The owners Samir & Ghada were super-friendly and recommended us their specialty items (spicy chicken shawarma roll-up with fries, falafel platter, and spicy humus w/pita) - and all items were a big hit in our household! We have menu recommendations from friends of many more to try in the coming weeks, such as spicy chicken kabobs & spicy chicken burger, and we are looking forward to frequent this gem of a Medditaranian restaurant located in the peaceful neighborhood of Shrewsbury.
