Really in the middle of no where. If you have time, it’s nice, if you aren’t really passing by and not that religious, recommend skipping. Added about 3 hour detour going here. Was cool though, someone used different rocks from all over the world. So kind of made it worth the stop.

I can't begin to tell you how beautiful and moving and inspirational this place is. Whether you are religious or not it is a gift to be able to feast the eyes upon this incredible eighth wonder of the world. I can't recommend it enough. I went there once 47 years ago as a young teenager and remembered it so well. I just turned 60 and had to go back. it's even bigger and better and more beautiful. Thank you to all the people who maintain it so well.

This is a hidden gem in a small Iowa community. The Grotto is free to visitors and accepts donations. There are guided tours available and the complex includes a museum, gift store, small playground, and park with benches and live swans. I did not have time for the guided tour or to visit the gift store or museum; however, just a walk-through of the Grotto itself is enough to appreciate the artistry and massive amount of work which went into it's creation. The Grotto is certainly worth checking out if you have just a few minutes to kill or several hours.

Such an amazing sight to see! It was so pretty, peaceful and the area is kept so clean! There is a small playground next to it that my kids liked playing on while I took my time admiring this amazing grotto. If you have the chance definitely check it out!
