Wanted to give a shoutout to Steve and Sierra South for completely reframing my mindset when it comes to whitewater! My teammate and I (who have a big adventure race coming up with lots of packrafting) scheduled a full day private session. Sierra South was completely cool and accommodating with letting us bring the boats and gear we were going to use during the race for some real-world training and teaching. We got hooked up with Steve and immediately knew we were in good hands. Dude has tons of experience, including packrafting, on big water and was exceptional at relaying instruction, providing feedback and allowing us to be flexible with his “challenge by choice” mentality. We accepted all the challenges he safely presented and walked away with a ton of new understanding, techniques and most importantly for me, CONFIDENCE. Thanks to a day on the water with Steve, he completely changed the narrative in my head from anxiety/fear and “just getting through” the paddling sections of my races, to loving the sport! I can’t wait for the packrafting legs of our upcoming race and we’re already planning some standalone packrafting trips.

Amazing trip!!! Our guide was Andrew and he made us feel super comfortable down the river. He was very informative and knowledgeable and left us feeling much more confident in river safety. We did a full day trip and had an awesome catered lunch that the guides worked hard to put together. All guides were extremely friendly, happy and just a joy to be around. Whether it’s the company or the people, it was an amazing feeling all around and we truly appreciated the guides who went down the river with us!!!! Make sure you always tip them!!

My girlfriend and I were first timers to rafting. Our Honda outdoor club booked a full day lower Kern class II III with Sierra South and we couldn’t have been happier. For starters our trip was originally booked for April. But the COVID-19 shutdown caused us to move it out and Sierra was extremely accommodating. On the river the guides Trey and Ian were amazing. Did a great job of stressing safety but not scaring us newbies. They also told funny stories and kept the whole trip fun and exciting. We will definitely return for a class 4 trip next year.

Myself and 3 buddies did the full day lower Kern rafting trip in August. Jared was our rafting guide and he was great. Jared was very positive and knowledgeable and I would recommend him to anyone. We had a blast going through the rapids. We also stopped at \Jumping Rock\ where we jumped about 20 feet down into the water. We were also fed good sandwiches for lunch. I plan on returning next year in early June to do the upper Kern rafting trip. We want to go earlier in the season because the water will be flowing harder and we are looking for an even greater thrill.

A group of us dads recently took our 4 graduating senior sons rafting as a senior trip and Sierra South provided us with the perfect get away. The drive up to Kernville was really straight forward and once we got there, we had a blast. The guides were a lot of fun, taking time to show us natural features of the canyons and area history, as well as encouraging us to test ourselves through increasingly challenging rapids, Dad v. Son \King of the Raft\ battles, and cliff jumping. We had two great days of laughs with our boys, just in time before they head to college. Overall the experience was A, with great gear, great people and a great time. Thanks!
