Our Axis experience was a mess from the start. We were promised way too many things reminding us that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Schedules were constantly changing with little to no notice. Lower level teams were stacked with way too many players for there to be any chance of growth. My daughter was thrilled to be invited to a higher team placement than she expected following her second year tryout with Axis, only for the team to be dissolved within 48 hours of accepting the position. Joe D informed us of the dissolved team via email on a Sunday morning. Thankfully, C1VB allowed her to attend a makeup tryout the day we were informed of the dissolved Axis team, and she was fortunate to receive an opportunity to play with C1 at the last minute that year. We have happily remained with C1 for the past two years. Good for Axis for trying to “clean up their image” online, but be careful what you ask for when emailing past families to publicly review your club. To those researching Axis, there are several volleyball clubs to choose from here in the upstate. Do your homework before you stroke the check. Everyone has different needs and dreams. If your child isn’t college bound with volleyball, this probably isn’t the club for you.

I have two daughters that have played for Axis and they have truly enjoyed their experience. Their skills have greatly improved. The coaches are very dedicated to teaching and improving the current and next generation volleyball athletes. The coaches and directors communicate very well with parents and players. Any emails or calls that I have made to any coach have been returned in a very professional manner. Any additional private lessons or training that my girls have asked for, they have accommodated. The skill level that former and present Axis volleyball players have is phenomenal. I have found that if the girls really listen to the coaches and parents let the coaches coach and athletes put in the work on and off the court, learn to be coachable, learn to keep pushing through even when they have a bad practice or game they become the best athletes they can be. Axis is a great volleyball club and I highly recommend them. Some of the best skilled volleyball players in the upstate started with Axis.

I have had 2 daughters play club volleyball and during their time played for the 3 main clubs in Greenville/Spartanburg area and without a doubt Axis is the best in all phases including the 2 most important trust worthy and the training. After spending 14 years watching and traveling in club I have come to find out what good honest club directors are and all at Axis are that. The training at Axis is hands down the best in this state and I get amazed at how parents of today only look at a teams record or my child didn't make top team and not their kids improvement. The grass is not greener on the other side. Training is where it's at and Axis has it.

I have never seen such an unorganized club. For the non travel club practices were not scheduled until the Sunday or Monday of that week, sometimes it decided until that day. During our first session we were given a coach who brought her 5 year old daughter to practices and a tournament, who expected the girls to take turns watching her, didn’t show up for practices, and belittled the girls. Second session was given 2 college students who would show up late or talk to each other. Again we did not know when or where the practices would be until that Sunday or Monday And times and date changed week to week. They tell you this is just a fluke and reassure you it will be better next session but when you find another club and speak to former axis parents you find out this is there normal.
