I was shocked at how quickly and easily I was able to be seen by a physician.this is by far the best healthcare experience I have ever had. I would recommend this service to everyone.

Don’t go to MercyOne ER. I was having severe chest pains, trouble breathing and nauseous. I checked myself in to the ER. I told the Check-in Clerk I thought I was having a heart attack. She seemed disinterested and SLOWLY asked for name, insurance info, allergies & just let me stand at the window. I spent 3 hrs laying in a cold, closed door room only seeing a nurse 2 times, a lab tech who took my blood sample from my THUMB, and the ER doctor. Doctor determined I did not have a heart attack but didn’t know what caused my pain. He told me, if it happens again, come back. Why? There were only two other older patients in the ER while I was there. I was not impressed with the lack of attention from the two nurses on duty as they were having a good laugh at the nurses’ station. The environment did not appear shiny clean like you find at St. Luke’s or the Dunes Surgery Center. I WILL NOT be returning MercyOne!!!! Since my ER visit to MercyOne, my husband was taken by ambulance 11/28/20 with a pulmonary embolism to St. Luke’s ER. The level of care and urgency was impressive. He had emergency surgery and back home within 48 hours.

As a WTC first responder (firefighter) I have a few chronic health care issues that bring me to the emergency room (and occasionally get me admitted to the hospital. My most frequent problems are neurological, followed by pulmonary. Living in Brooklyn, I had the problem of my doctors being at NYU. The dilemma being ofcourse shlepping into the city by car to the NYU E.R. to be under their care.

If you like calling for a nurse and being ignored and the staff running a bunch of test on you without finding anything out and no doctor to consult you on the test this is the place for you. Called back 10 plus times for billing information and was sent to an automated voice mail and never contacted back.

Mercy sends me a bill one week after billing my two insurance providers. The insurance companies are not given time to reply. They have always paid. It appears Mercy is trying to get paid twice for the same visit. This has happened quite often, they are very unprofessional!
