Always excellent food and even for take out. Don't be afraid even during take out only. They did an awesome job of food prep and packaging. A cut above the traditional mountain village food in Mammoth. Had the pork belly and tenderloin. Finished off with creme brulee (some of the best I've ever had). A little hard to find but worth the effort.

I was left disappointed. I’m not sure if it was the overpowering blue cheese on my salad or the overdone duck or the tasteless and dry tenderloin but I have to say the reviews do not reflect the lack of quality. Sure it is one of the best places in Mammoth (lower your expectations) but that should not be an excuse for sub par food. The service was OK and randomly engaging. It’s not a large place so I was surprised that we had to wait long for someone. I wish I could say like everyone below that it was the best food I’ve had but sadly I would be falsifying the reality. Give it a try though...
Celebrated a birthday here during our stay in Mammoth lakes — it was OUTSTANDING. Outdoor seating under the trees was romantic & relaxing. They’ve done such a good job. From the superb service, to all the special touches including these hand-carved knives made by the chef, Icelandic beer, and Norwegian-inspired flavors you’d never try elsewhere. We’re not too adventurous of meat eaters so we went with the scallops & steak – both exceeded expectations! The mushroom crepe is also a must! Thanks to our waiter for decorating a special dessert & adding complementary macaroons. We’ll remember Skadi

This restaurant is so neat and dear to my heart— I can’t say enough good things. The unique menu is so entirely delicious, you literally can’t go wrong ordering anything Ian creates. I always look forward to coming here when I’m up in Mammoth. The friendly staff, bustling alpine-themed restaurant interior, and incredible food make this place one you can’t miss.
