Quick and Clean. Covered parking. But the Dunkin Donuts is hands down the absolute worst DD I've ever been to- trash on floor, slow, didn't have product and it was the afternoon. The manager didn't wear a mask. He and the other employee were just talking away. Making coffee seemed like an annoyance. Long line. They didn't notice or seem to care. The worst. It took a really long time for a coffee and a hot chocolate.

Good clean bathrooms, good variety of foods available for eating (pizza, burgers, coffee via Dunkin etc) even has goft shops to an extent. Gas is available for topping up. Has all you need.

Nice service area. Clean bathrooms. Sadly starbucks is still closed (I'm guessing due to covid?) There is still an open Dunkin if you need a caffeine fix. WARNING! Whatever you do, DO NOT get ice for your molten hot dunkin coffee at the burger King soda fountain bc you will get yelled at by the angry man behind the counter! (Again probably something to do w covid but it's self service, there was no one else in the whole place and I was of course wearing a mask!)

This service area needs some major renovations. We've been stopping here for a number of years and it's never been this bad. It's dark and dreary, even in the middle of the day. Only a couple of the food or retail vendors were open and the gated shopfronts gave the place a kind of ghost town vibe. Even though the restrooms were relatively clean, let's just say that they could have been better attended. The whole place just seemed a bit creepy, tbh and it felt more like we were there in the middle of the night. Obviously, we don't stop at every single rest area along the way, but we definitely haven't found these issues at any of the other service areas on the NY Thruway where we've stopped. I'm thinking that Sloatsburg might be one of the older service areas on I87 but that's no reason to let the upkeep slide, IMHO.

Huge service plaza, if you travel and stop to stretch your legs or perhaps eat this is place to stop. Many fast food options and tourist info. One thing I didn't like is absence of wall partitions between urinals in men's washrooms.
